Making Friends

We have been staying busy attending meetings, baptisms and helping out where we can.  Sunday November 24th we attended the Estates branch for Sacrament meeting and then we stopped by the Nkwabeng branch and attended Priesthood and Relief Society.  The Estates branch had their primary program.  Only 4 young ones participated.  They sang all the songs and gave all the talks.  One primary child recited the first 4 arcticles of faith by memory.  I was very impressed.

Monday we drove out to Domfete to attend a self reliance class.  That Branch is about an hour north of us.  We were stopped at a police check point.  They were very nice and asked if we have some literature to share.  We gave them a pamphlet about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  This branch is interesting because they meet at an open air school in the middle of a small court yard under a nice shade tree to hold their Self Reliance Class.  There was a good showing as about 9 students showed up.  There was a really sweet little boy that wondered out of the school and made friends with us.

Tuesday we attended district council meeting with a district of missionaries.  They are so amazing and are working hard.  We learned that a companionship of sisters had a baptism planned for Saturday.  We decided to stop by to see if we could help with anything.  I ended up playing the piano for the baptism and Louie Confirmed the lady a member of our church.  We also got asked to be witnesses to the baptism.  It was really cool!!
Here is the lady who was baptized!
Saturday we taught our Institute class.  (Young Adult scripture class).  It is not very well attended yet.  We are working on that.  Also they really liked our apples and banana bread.
I really like these kids.  They are just trying to figure out their lives.  They are great kids Though!

Sunday we attended the Fiapre branch because we thought they were going to be 3 baptisms after the service, but those were postponed till next week.
After the branch service the whole branch took a picture with a young lady who graduated from college.  I love how Ghanains lift and support each other.  They are great friends to everyone!
Celebrating after our services 💜
A heartfelt shout out to Rachel, Janaye and Earl who all had birthdays in the last couple of weeks and a very happy Thanksgiving to all.  We celebrated by eating at Kentucky Fried Chicken.  A highlight of my Thanksgiving was a call from the zone leaders (young missionaries) wanting to talk specifically about all that they were grateful for.  It touched my heart and ment so much to me.  We also said goodbye to our sweetboy Charlie (Our Tuxedo cat we have had for 14 years) this week.  His health declined and Janaye, Gage and Katie went to have him put down.  We found out he had Oral Cancer and knew that it was the right thing to do.

We hope you all are having a great week.  We love and miss everyone, but we also know this is where Heavenly Father would like us to be right now.

Love Elder and Sister Fuell

  1. Thanks for sharing your experiences there. What a thrill to be a part of building Zion in a place where the Kingdom of God is still fairly young!
