Hospital Clinics and boreholes for schools!

Image
Time is just flying by while we serve here in Ghana.  This last week we went to a little town called Morso to be involved in what the church calls a "hand over".  The Church built a hospital clinic in this little village.  After it is built they have a small ceremony in which the Church will hand the clinic over to the community.  We invite the chief's and community people and we got to be there with a high ranking member of our church or what we would call a General Authority.  His name is Isaac Morrison.  Elder Morrison is a Ghanaian who lives in Accra.  He is Second Councilor in the Area Presidency.  These are a fun part of what we do because we get to celebrate with them our gift.   Elder Morrison with the Queen Mother of Morso We also met these cute nurses at the new Morso Clinic.  They are the true unsung hero's of Ghana!  We made sure we thanked them for all that they do. The church also donated these birthing beds....

Time has simply got away from me.  I am over due on sending out a blog post.  We have made so many great friends while serving in Ghana.  They are the salt of the earth kind of people.  We get to know them briefly and then we have to say good bye.  Many are from Utah, so we will see them again.  One of these couples was Ron and Katie Kirk from Blanding Utah.  There will be a little less laughter in Ghana with out Katie here.  We drove into Kumasi to say good bye to them.  One thing I loved about Katie, was that she was saying one day, "you know how some people swim in their money when they are rich?  when I get home I will swim in my grandkids."  She has many grandkids and is very blessed.   Ron and Katie are the center in the back.  She gave us all a Ghanaian scarf to tie our hair up with This is our mission President!  He showed us how to tie our hair up.  He had watched his mother and wife do it many time...
