Miracles still boldly going forward!

This has been a difficult week.  I can easily say it has not been my favorite week in Ghana.  These are the ups and downs of mission life.  I used to tell my young missionary sons and daughter that a mission is a small somewhat controlled experience of what real life is going to be like.  Not every day in life is cakes and roses.  Not every day of a mission is cakes and roses too.  There are difficult days.  One thing I learned this week for sure is that Heavenly Father is very much aware of his missionaries and his work rolls forward very boldly.  We also experienced many miracles this week despite a few set backs.   We moved from an area in Sunyani called Fiapre to another area called Nkwabeng.  We spent a few days in Kumasi while the church hired some Ghanaian's to move our things.  None of it is actually is our things.  It is all stuff owned by the church that we are using while we are here.  All of our pers...

Hello friends!   I hope you are all doing wonderful.   We lost an amazing neighbor and friend, Jay Grygla.  He was one of those people that you just love being around because of his goodness.  We will miss him and his amazing singing voice.  We send condolences to JoAnn and the entire family.  We are praying for your peace at this difficult time.  I knew Jay when I worked at the water company even before we moved to Riverton.  He was always very kind.   This week has been crazy.   Some very cool things we were able to do and also some things that just happened and we had to deal with.   Chief of Sunyani (Bono Region) So after we wrote the last post, we went with the She Shells Organization to go meet the Chief of Sunyani.  We drove over to his compound and he invited us in to visit with him.  We were there with Mary Amoah (She Shells Org) and also Issac ( Works with NGO's) to meet and discuss land ...

Hello friends and family, We had a busy week last week so I am just getting to writing our blog.  I also took a break and Louie wrote so now I need to get back into the swing of things. We spent a good portion of last week helping a dear Sister Missionary in our mission get to Dr. appointments.  We had to help her find a lab to have blood drawn and we had to find an Ophthalmologist in the Sunyani area.  After consulting with the right people we were able to take care of these items.   We also decided to take a break and drive up to Techiman to visit our good friends the Vousden's.  The Vousden's are from England and we have become fast friends.  Techiman is located about 75 KM East of Sunyani.  It was a beautiful drive through a tropical Savannah that includes banana trees and Coconut groves.  I saw a lady hitch hiking along the way.  I mentioned to Louie that I might feel safer hitchhiking in Ghana than the US.  They don't have a K...

Hello family and friends!  We hope you are all doing great!  Normally Brenda has written the weekly email but this time I thought I'd give it a go.   Ghana is amazing!  The people here are so kind and go out of their way to make sure we are okay.  We drive out to some of the branches we are assigned and along the way there are check points  that we might be asked to stop at.  These check points are either by the military or local police.  With that said, we get asked how we like Ghana and are we doing okay here.  Every once in a while we get asked if we have anything for them.  We have tried to have water but usually we give them a pamphlet.  They seem to enjoy our visits.  Its been very hot here since we arrived.  The very first day we arrived in Kumasi it rained but hasn't rained since.  There have been overcast days but no rain.  Its been about 96 degrees just about everyday.  I'd love to say i...
