The Woman by the Well

 We have not posted for a while because of much of what we have been doing has been paper work involving a few projects we are working on.  The need is so great for villages to have clean water.  So many diseases that we don't worry so much about in the United States are a constant battle here in Ghana.  These include, Typhoid, Dysentery, Giardia and Cholera.  All of these can be prevented by simply having clean water.   The fact that we deal a lot with helping them have boreholes (wells) dug, the scripture story about the Woman at the well has been fresh on my mind.  This has always been one of my favorite scripture story's for many reasons.  Jesus Christ is one of the best champions of women.  I love him for that.  Fetching water here in Africa is a chore that is usually left to the women and children.  It is not an easy chore.  Water is very heavy (8.34lbs per gallon).  They usually put a tank  up high with a ...

Bore Holes and Medical Clinics

 It has been very busy here in the Humanitarian part of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Friday of last week we went to Kumasi to check on 2 humanitarian projects.  The first project we checked out was a group of women called "Better Life for Women", who are an organization that supports families with disabled children.  This organization makes home visits to families with disabled children.  They are asking the church to donate some equipment such as walkers, wheel chairs, bath chairs ect.  We also visited two villages in the Mampong Scarp(little mountain region).  Two villages that have had  much hardship getting water for their villages.  They hike through the jungle down a ravine and fetch water this way.  We had the honor of hiking with them to verify their need.  It was very hot and humid that day and very difficult hiking conditions.  Also, it is important to note that we travel to very remote areas where there are no bathro...
