Chest of drawers in the kitchen!

We payed another visit to our friends at the Orphanage/boarding school.  We have become friends with some Abrony's (white people) who run the school and now and then we like to stop by and tell them what a good job they are doing and bring the children some good cheer.  Things are coming along out there in the way of a new water tank and some shelves for their books and shoes and such. Last Sunday we went to church in a small branch in the Estates neighborhood of Sunyani.  I felt impressed to  go to the Primary (Children's classes) to teach them a song.  We had so much fun teaching them Book of Mormon Stories. We have a very nice handyman who helps us with repairs or any needs for our apartment.  His name is Enoch.  I explained to him one day that I needed  more drawers in my kitchen.  He brought me a chest of drawers.  I wasn't sure and even felt a little frustrated, but now I think everyone should have a chest of drawers in their...

What a week this has been!  First of all I should let you all know that I survived District Conference and my 11 hymns.  Let me start by saying that I practiced everyday for about an hour, sometimes 2 hours.  (Studied it out in my mind).  Louie and I fasted to petition the Lord for extra help and Louie gave me a blessing Friday night.  It all turned out well and we all lived through it.  The Lord truly hears and answers prayers.  This experience has strengthened my faith.   Monday morning we woke up and drove to Tamale to check out a school for a possible humanitarian project.  Tamale is the 3rd largest city in Ghana.  It is 5 1/2 hours north of us.  It has a totally different feel  then Sunyani.  It is a much dryer climate and the vegetation is different.  They have an 80% Muslim population there.  The Muslim's pray formally 5 times a day.  They start at about 5 AM and they are not quiet about it...

We are kind of getting settled into our new apartment, but just to find out that we will be moving again.  Our mission president feels like we need to live in a bigger home so we can host him or other senior couples when they travel to this area.  As of now our apartment is too small to host anybody else.  I am very grateful that we at least have water.  I also have discovered that there are far less critters where we are living now.  Our last apartment had lizards that lived on the walls.  We really didn't mind them because they mostly kept to themselves.  I was not a fan of the ants and other insects that would infiltrate my home.  I have not seen one ant in my new apartment.  It's the little things. We are working steadily on our humanitarian projects.  The chief we visited donated some land to build the Women's clinic that we've been working on.  He encouraged the She Shells organization to see if they could expand our project t...
